My First Rave - DJ'ing from an iPad with 50+ People
I've organized events before - back in student years I ran Google Hash Code gatherings for around 100 people. But this was different. This was my first rave, and I was the one behind the decks. Well, behind the iPad.
The idea had been brewing for a while: find the most isolated spot possible near Krakow, set up proper sound equipment, and throw an outdoor party for 50+ friends. No noise complaints, no distractions, just us and the music under the night sky.
What Made It Special
The location was key - remote enough that we could push the volume without worrying about neighbors. For DJ duties, I went unconventional: running the entire set from an iPad. It worked surprisingly well and made the whole setup more portable.
Between sets, we had a movie screening under the stars. Well, we didn't see shooting stars that night, but the whole night had this energy that's hard to describe.
Looking Back
The event exceeded all expectations. A big part of that was friends and people from Krakow's IT community who helped make it happen - bringing lights, a projector, powerful JBL speakers, and everything else needed to pull this off. Thank you all for the help and for showing up - that was fun!
First rave, first time DJ'ing, and I'm sure not the last.
