A collection of photos and videos from my home country - Ukraine. With a population of around 40 million and a territory larger than any country entirely within Europe, Ukraine is a land of vast plains, historic cities, and resilient people.

Fun fact: Kyiv is one of the oldest cities in Eastern Europe, founded around 482 AD. The city's golden-domed churches and chestnut-lined boulevards have witnessed over 1,500 years of history.

My Ukraine

These images capture Ukraine as I've known it - from the peaceful village landscapes to the modern bridges of Kyiv, from drone flights over ancient monasteries to quiet walks along the Dnipro River. It's a deeply personal collection of places I've explored with my camera over the years.

The drone captured Kyiv from angles few get to see - the city glowing at blue hour with golden church domes piercing the skyline, the geometric pathways of Mariinsky Park forming patterns through lush summer greenery, and abandoned Soviet-era riverboats slowly decaying along the Dnipro's banks. The Park Bridge became an instant landmark when it opened, connecting the historic center with beautiful riverside parks - and I was there to capture it from above.

Ukrainian villages hold a special place in my heart. The rhythm of life there is slower, connected to the land and seasons. Summer evenings with endless sunsets, fields of sunflowers stretching to the horizon - these are the images that define home for me.

Why This Matters

Looking at these images now, knowing what has happened since 2022, they carry a different weight. They document a Ukraine that was building, growing, and looking forward. Some of these places have been damaged or destroyed. But they also remind me of what Ukraine was - and will be again.
